Teaching Experience

I began my teaching experience here at Mulkey 18 years ago. I was hired as a first grade teacher for the 2000-2001 school year. I have taught various grades since that time and am currently a Kindergarten teacher. During my time at Mulkey I have also had the experience of being a reading teacher for several years.

FAMILY

Born December 17, 1977 and raised in Andalusia, Alabama, I am the oldest daughter of Eddie and Angie Cofield. My mother is a retired employee with Andalusia City Schools. My father is employed offshore with Superior Energy as the Superintendent, Eastern Division. My parents, both long time residents of Andalusia, have been married for 41 years.

I have one sister, Melanie Cofield Parker. Melanie graduated from Auburn University in Public Relations. She married college boyfriend, Russell Parker in 2004. Melanie and Russell have settled in Hoover, Alabama. They have one son, Hudson Parker.

PERSONAL

Born and raised in Andalusia, I attended Church Street Elementary School, Andalusia Middle School, and Andalusia High School. Growing up, I enjoyed ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling for 15 years from Arlene Nettles School of Dance. In high school, cheerleading was the center of my extra curricular school activities. I graduated with honors from Andalusia High School in 1996.

After receiving the Troy State University Leadership Scholarship, I began my college experience in the fall of 1996. While attending Troy State, I was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. I was employed with the Troy Housing Authority as a director for the after-school tutorial program. I majored in Early Childhood Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude in December 1999.

Following graduation, I received a first grade teaching position with the Andalusia City Schools to replace a teacher who had to take a leave of absence due to illness. In August 2000, I received a first grade teaching position with the Geneva City Schools. The staff at Mulkey Elementary have been and continue to be great mentors. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to observe and learn from such highly qualified educators.

Since completing my B.S. in Early Childhood Education, I have continued my education and graduated with a M.S. in Elementary Education from Troy University.

In 2007, I was married to Robert Precise, of Geneva. He is employed as a dentist at Dixieland Dental in Midland City, AL. Robert and I reside in Coffee Springs, AL. We have three children, Carly (9), Claire (5), and Reed (2). Both Carly and Claire attend Mulkey Elementary and are in the 4th grade and Kindergarten.
